Are you a law student looking to explore the field of taxation? Look no further! The School of Excellence in Law, The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, in association with Subbaraya Aiyar, Padmanabhan, and Ramamani (S.A.P.R) Advocates, presents the 14th K.R Ramamani Memorial National Taxation Moot Court Competition 2024. This prestigious event aims to provide law students with a practical legal platform to develop their skills and ignite their interest in taxation law.
About the Competition
Taxation is often perceived as a vast and highly complicated subject, requiring considerable expertise. Unfortunately, many law graduates are reluctant to take up taxation as their area of practice. As a result, the practice of taxation is limited to a select group of advocates, despite taxation laws being extensively applicable in India. The 14th K.R Ramamani Memorial National Taxation Moot Court Competition seeks to bridge this gap by nurturing the next generation of taxation practitioners.
The competition will take place virtually on February 9th and 10th, 2024, with the semi-finals and finals being conducted physically on March 10th, 2024, at the School of Excellence in Law, Taramani Campus. The winners of the 14th V.S. Sundaram Research Paper Competition will also be announced during the valedictory ceremony on March 10th, 2024.
Eligibility & Team Composition
Participation in the 14th K.R Ramamani Memorial Taxation Moot is restricted to bona fide law students enrolled in the three-year or five-year LL.B. or B.L. degree course in any institution recognized by the Bar Council of India. Each registered institution is allowed to send only one team to participate in the competition.
A team must comprise a minimum of two and a maximum of three members. In a team of two, each member will be designated as a 'Speaker,' whereas in a team of three, two members will be designated as 'Speakers' and the third member as a 'Researcher.' Moreover, students from undergraduate courses of law, commerce, accountancy, and taxation are welcome to participate in the 14th V.S. Research Paper Competition, 2024.
