About the Competition

The 1st Virtual National Mediation Competition, organized by ICFAI Law School, aims to encourage budding lawyers to understand the rising need for Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms, particularly mediation. This competition provides a platform for students to showcase their negotiation and mediation skills and gain practical experience in resolving conflicts.

Eligibility Criteria

To participate in the competition, students must be pursuing a bonafide three or five-year degree program in law from a college or university recognized by the Bar Council of India.

3. Last date of clarification: January 29, 2024
4. Release of clarification: January 31, 2024
5. Inauguration of prelims & quarters: February 9, 2024
6. Semi-finals, finals, & valedictory: February 10, 2024

Team Composition

Each participating team should consist of three members, all from the same institution or college. Please note that each institute or college can only send one team. A team should comprise a mediator and a mediating pair consisting of a counsel and a client.

Awards and Prizes

The competition offers exciting cash prizes and internships to the winners:

1. Winning Team: The client and counsel of the winning team will receive a cash prize worth Rs. 7,000. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to secure an internship at Mediate Guru.
2. Runners-up Team: The client and counsel of the runners-up team will receive a cash prize worth Rs. 5,000. They will also be awarded a scholarship in the CIRC-Weवाद ODR learning course.
3. Best Mediator: The Best Mediator will receive a cash prize worth Rs. 5,000 and an opportunity to secure an internship at Mediate Guru.
4. Runner-up Mediator: The Runner-up Mediator will receive a cash prize worth Rs. 4,000 and an opportunity to secure an internship at Weवाद.
