In this article, we will delve into the details of the recruitment process, eligibility criteria, duties, facilities, and the invaluable experience that awaits you as an Institute Post-doctoral Fellow (IPDF).
At the heart of the Institute Post-doctoral Fellows Recruitment program lies the opportunity to engage in immersive research experiences while receiving a competitive fellowship. The fellowship amount varies depending on your level of experience:
Fellowship Experience | Fellowship Amount |
---|---|
Fresh PhD with no post-PhD experience | Rs. 65,000/- p.m. |
PhD + 1 year of post-PhD experience | Rs. 68,000/- p.m. |
PhD + 2 years of post-PhD experience | Rs. 71,000/- p.m. |
In addition to the monthly fellowship, a non-lapsable contingency grant of Rs. 15,000 per year is provided to support your research endeavors. While on-campus accommodation is not provided, an HRA (House Rent Allowance) equivalent to 24% of the salary will be given to assist you in securing suitable housing.
The Institute Post-doctoral Fellows Recruitment program welcomes candidates who are fresh PhDs, have less than 2 years of experience, or are research scholars awaiting examination after thesis submission. To be considered for this esteemed position, it is preferable to be below 32 years of age. However, exceptions may be made for exceptional candidates who demonstrate outstanding potential and a strong research background.
It is important to note that IIT Bombay's own PhD students are not eligible for the Institute Post-doctoral Fellow position. This program aims to bring in fresh perspectives and foster interdisciplinary collaborations, allowing external candidates to contribute to the vibrant academic ecosystem.
