Roles and Responsibilities

As a Legal Assistant at GSI, your roles and responsibilities will include:

  1. Providing legal support on issues related to GSI.
  2. Preparing comments on all legal proceedings filed against GSI and drafting counter affidavits.
  3. Scrutinizing counter affidavits received from Counsel and performing other legal work as assigned.
  4. Maintaining a list of pending court cases and monitoring their progress.
  5. Assisting and representing GSI in court hearings.
  6. Providing legal advice on policy matters and service level agreements.
  7. Drafting and vetting tender documents to avoid legal complications.
  8. Assisting in managing court cases and attending hearings at various courts and tribunals.
  9. Coordinating with the Department of Legal Affairs, Government of India, and other legal professionals.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the position of Legal Assistant at GSI, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. Hold a degree in law from a recognized University or Institute.
  2. Have at least two years of post-qualification experience at the bar. Or,
  3. Hold a Master's degree in law from a recognized University or Institute and have at least one year of post-qualification experience at the bar.
  4. Have work experience in a court of law or expertise in legal matters with sufficient experience in a government department.
  5. Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  6. Have knowledge of computer applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint.
