The National Law University Meghalaya (NLU Meg), in association with the National Human Rights Commission of India (NHRC), is thrilled to announce the 1st National Law Moot Court Competition. This prestigious event aims to provide a platform for law students to delve into the intricacies of the legal system while advocating for the protection and promotion of human rights.
The National Law University Meghalaya, located in the picturesque state of Meghalaya, is the first National Law University in the region. With a mission to pioneer legal educational reforms and transform the Indian legal system through research and policy interventions, NLU Meg is at the forefront of legal education.
The NLU MEG-NHRC National Moot Court Competition is designed to nurture and hone the skills of law students while fostering a deep understanding and concern for human rights. By presenting a practical problem for participants to solve, this competition provides an opportunity to interpret and analyze legal provisions within a given legal regime. It challenges students to craft well-reasoned arguments and showcase their legal acumen, research skills, and oratory abilities.
Moot court competitions are an essential part of a law student's education and development. They offer numerous benefits, including enhancing legal knowledge, honing advocacy skills, and fostering overall growth. This competition will focus on a challenging and thought-provoking hypothetical case, encompassing a range of legal issues. Participants will have the opportunity to explore various facets of the law and present their arguments before experts in the field.
The competition is open to all students pursuing three-year or five-year integrated courses (BA LLB/BBA LLB/B.Com LL.B) or any equivalent degree from any law school in India or abroad. Each participating team must consist of three members, including two speakers and one researcher. Please note that only 50 teams will be registered for the competition, so don't miss your chance to participate.
