The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University is organizing the 1st National Tamil Moot Court Competition, providing an opportunity for law students to engage in mooting in the regional language of Tamil. Established in 1997, the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University is the first Affiliated Law University in India. The university offers a range of academic programs under its School of Excellence in Law. Recognized by the Bar Council of India and the University Grants Commission, the university is committed to the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in the field of law. It is named after Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution.
The 1st National Tamil Moot Court Competition is scheduled to take place on February 3rd and 4th, 2024 (virtual mode) and February 17th, 2024 (offline mode). This competition aims to encourage mooting in the Tamil language and provide a platform for students to address important issues in society.
Participation in the competition is open to bona fide law students enrolled in the three-year or five-year LLB or BL degree course in any institution. Each registered institution can send two teams, with each team comprising three members. Two members will be designated as "Speakers," while the third member will be designated as the "Researcher."
